Stimulating your pup’s brain plays an important part in their development. Not only does it keep them learning and growing, but it also helps them exhaust excess energy, avoid disruptive behaviors, like chewing and barking and helps to keep them from being bored.
Hide treats or food around the house or even outside
Encourage your dog to use their problem solving skills to scour the house for food or treats. Dogs are natural foragers, so this fun activity reinforces that skill and also allows them the opportunity to engage their senses to sniff out tasty treats!
You can start off super simple and then increase the difficulty as you go by hiding treats under items or even outside. Just make sure that your pup is in a safe area and isn’t able to get into anything dangerous or toxic.
Teach him a new trick
If your dog already knows basic commands like ‘sit’ and ‘stay’, you can take their training to the next level by teaching them more complex commands like ‘roll over’ and ‘shake’. There are tons of videos online to help you and your pup learn new tricks! A simple Google search will lead you to some awesome videos!
